PARENT ADVOCACY TRAINING
It takes a village to raise a child. What does it take to raise one with special healthcare needs? Add another village to complicate coordination further or hone skills to effectively utilise available resources?

The training aims to help parents and caregivers:-
-
Identify healthcare needs of the child, how they are being met
-
Identify service gaps and ways to narrow them
-
Understand the family’s rights and dispel myths about the child being a burden to the family or the society
-
Develop ways to advocate for the child in healthcare and education settings
-
Develop self-care plans that are achievable and effective together with a supportive community who truly understand the challenges
